Jakub M. Michna
Jakub Michna is an associate at Sunstein concentrating in patent preparation and prosecution.
Experience
- Jakub has worked on patent prosecution matters involving software, business methods, electronics, semiconductor processing, mechanical devices, medical devices, and manufacturing processes.
- In addition to his prosecution work, Jakub has experience with practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Most notably, Jakub participated in the preparation and filing of an amicus brief to the Court filed on behalf of the Boston Patent Law Association in the case of In re Bilski.
- Before joining Sunstein, Jakub was a full-semester judicial extern in 2006 to the Honorable Arthur J. Gajarsa of the Federal Circuit.
- He was an intern at the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he worked under Administrative Patent Judges.
- During law school, Jakub was a senior editor of IDEA: The Intellectual Property Law Review at Franklin Pierce Law Center.
- Before law school, Jakub worked in the semiconductor industry as a manufacturing engineer for a leading ion implanter supplier. He was responsible for designs of electro-mechanical assemblies measurement system evaluation and statistical quality control.
