Kathryn E. Noll

Kathryn E. Noll is an associate at Sunstein. Kate has extensive experience in patent and trademark preparation and prosecution matters, product clearance, and intellectual property litigation.  Kate’s experience includes counseling clients with respect to their intellectual property in a wide array of technologies, including microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), optical systems, mechanical and medical devices, metallurgy, and semiconductor devices and processes, both in the U.S. and abroad. 

Experience

  • Kate has served as in-house counsel to an automatic test equipment manufacturing company. 
  • Before becoming an attorney, Kate worked for over ten years as a research engineer designing and conducting studies primarily in the metallurgical and semiconductor fields.

  • Kate is a member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, the Boston Patent Law Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

  • Kate is a member of the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Kate has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Honors

  • Named as a "Rising Star" in 2008 and 2009 by the publishers of Law and Politics and Boston magazine. Only the top 2.5 percent of MA attorneys who are under the age of 40 or who have been practicing for 10 or fewer years are named Rising Stars through independent research and upon recommendation of their peers.
