Working at Sunstein

At Sunstein, we focus on developing the next generation of outstanding intellectual property professionals in a unique and caring culture that sets us apart.

Culture and Diversity

Sunstein is an inclusive environment where we value, respect, and support each other - drawing on and appreciating the diversity of our colleagues. We recognize the benefits of having a firm comprised of diverse individuals and strive towards diversity of race, ethnicity, gender, LGBT identity, and disability status.

Benefits and Perks

Sunstein offers a comprehensive compensation and benefit package consistent with industry standards. Actual salary depends upon qualifications, but we offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits.

Small and Specialized

We love intellectual property law and are passionate about meeting the needs of our clients. Our firm is small and specialized in order to adjust quickly to industry trends, but our size allows us to provide one-on-one mentoring opportunities. Sunstein is a great law firm to develop one's niche.

Do things that matter

Right from the beginning of an attorney's career at Sunstein, our associates have the opportunity to gain hands-on, client-centered experiences that might take years of apprenticeship elsewhere. Our commitment to mentoring and teaching make this possible.

Focused on Technology

The use of technology to drive gains in efficiency is deeply embedded in our firm's culture. We focus our investment in technology and innovation in order to assist our IP lawyers in providing excellent service to our clients.

Equal Opportunity

Sunstein is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital, parental or veteran status, or disability.

Open Positions

Patent Prosecution Attorneys

Sunstein LLP, a prestigious and growing intellectual property boutique law firm located in Boston, MA, is seeking experienced patent prosecution attorneys as a result of the expansion of its practice.

Attorneys with backgrounds in high-tech (electrical engineering, software, and telecommunications [preferably 5G]) are encouraged to apply. A minimum of three years in-house or law firm prosecution experience is required. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, writing and communication skills, and be capable of independent and creative work.

We are also seeking lateral partners with portable books of business in the biotechnology/life sciences practice area to join our thriving practice.

Qualified candidates must have an aptitude for quickly understanding new and complex technologies, and an inquisitive, problem-solving, strategic mind. If you thrive within a cohesive team operating in a firm that places a high-value on maintaining its inclusive and collegial culture, you are encouraged to confidentially apply at employment@sunsteinlaw.com. Sunstein LLP is an equal opportunity employer.

I joined Sunstein in 2007 because I wanted to live and work in Boston and I wanted a law firm that was dedicated to having a world-class trademark practice. My colleagues at Sunstein have always offered me the support and the freedom to build my practice in trademark law in a way that was consistent with my individual goals as a practitioner. I can think of no better place to be an attorney than here at this firm in this city at this time.
