Sunstein Welcomes Raïna S. Jacques to the Trademark Litigation Team

Sunstein LLP is pleased to announce that Raïna S. Jacques has joined the firm as an associate focusing on trademark law and litigation. As a former prosecutor of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, Raïna has a broad range of trial and litigation experience at the Dorchester Division of the Boston Municipal Court.

In 2018, while a law student, Raïna was selected to be part of a Law Firm Practicum through New England Law’s Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program (CHHEP). The Practicum is taught pro bono by Sunstein partners and provides CHHEP students “real life” law firm experience.

“We are delighted to welcome Raïna back to Sunstein as one of the first participants in our Practicum through New England Law,” said Kerry L. Timbers, Sunstein’s managing partner. “The Practicum is something that I care deeply about, and I am very happy to officially welcome Raina to the Sunstein team.”

Prior to joining Sunstein, Raïna worked at a law firm in Boston handling cases surrounding complex civil litigation, general liability and toxic tort law. She has experience in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, dispositive and pretrial motions and trial preparations.

Raïna is an active member of the Black Entertainment Sports and Lawyers Association and enjoys showcasing emerging creatives and brands in the Boston area. She frequently volunteers in her community and has served as a liaison with “Fathers Uplift,” a non-profit that provides counseling and resources to assist fathers overcoming the unfortunate barriers of emotional and racial trauma.

Raïna received her J.D. from New England Law and her B.A. from Bates College.
